Guardian™ Scan Parameters & Notification Settings

This article reviews configuration options applicable for dispensers that determine Compliance measurement and alert levels.

Scan Parameters

A set of scan parameters enables the different sensor arrays within a dispenser, telling it if/when to capture dispense events, check for users walking by the dispenser, and so on.   We have two primary sets of scan parameters that we use by default:

  • Events Only
    • Use Case: Public dispensers and hallways
    • Only sanitization events are captured and sent to the web app
      • BLE only scans upon use of dispenser and records closest tagged user if applicable
    • No sleep or motion detection settings
  • Motion + Events
    • Use Case: Point-of-Care (bed-zone) dispensers
    • Motion sensor and motor triggers to “wake up” and scan for tags
    • Sanitization events are captured and associated tag data is sent to the web app
    • Dispenser goes to sleep when no motion activity is detected after a set period of time

LED Alerts

Upon Dispense (motor activation):

  • If ‘Battery’ and ‘Liquid’ status are both ‘Good’, then the dispenser flashes ONE green blink
  • If either status is ‘Low’ or ‘Critical’, then the dispenser flashes TWO or THREE green blinks, respectively

Upon Refill Cartridge Replacement:

  • The dispenser flashes ONE green blink to indicate that the cartridge presence was detected

Factory Reset:

  • When Factory Reset button is pressed/held, the green LED blinks every second for 5 seconds, followed by rapid blinking to indicate that the unit is factory reset and the button can be released
    • If the Factory Reset button is released before the 5 second countdown is over, the unit simply resets without doing a factory reset. See this article for more information on the Factory Reset process.

Secondary Notifications

  • Insights will also notify Administrators of battery and liquid status via dashboard and/or email
  • Insights will also notify Administrators of missed opportunities via dashboard and/or email
  • Each Mirador Guardian™ dispenser sends notifications to web application once an hour if there has been no dispensing event within that timeframe if applicable for the room type, to check for system updates or configuration changes
